I found this canvas in my laundry room one day that I had painted jet black years ago for a project that never got started. Well, I just came up with what to put on it. Nothing but white paint was used, just various tones of it to give a true light effect off the tunnel wall.

This is a painting titled, 'The Baptism of Carson Vines'. I was commissioned to do this painting by Dr. Vines son, Jon (Carson's mom (Rebecca) asked me about doing this piece some time back as well). Jon wanted it to be a gift for his dad since he would be in town for the Pastor's Conference. So, since he would be preaching the final day of the conference, I had to get to work to make the deadline. BTW - I've coached Carson for 3 seasons as a member of the Seahawks with NFL Flag football. He was a big part of two back-to-back undefeated championship seasons. It was good to have all parties involved at church that Sunday to present it to Pastor Vines as well.

I was asked to do this particular piece in 2018. The customer loved it, but there was something still missing from her vision of her dream. So, after some consultation and discussion, I was able to complete her vision from so many years ago. This was probably the most challenging piece I've ever done, because I had to produce someone else's vision. This piece meant so much to the customer that she almost came to tears seeing it and was so thankful to find someone, after 64 years, to produce what she couldn't. For those not familiar with the story behind this painting, this was the lasting vision she had from the dream she had the day before her sister was killed in a car accident in 1955. Her sister is in the pink dress. One last thing. In trying to produce some of the effects that I needed in the clouds, Sun, and sky, I had to paint with my finger(s), because a paintbrush couldn't pull off what I needed done.
