This is the oldest piece of work in my known portfolio. In 1985 or 86, I entered the national 'Draw Me' contest and won a full scholarship to The Art Instructions School of Minnesota. It was a correspondence course where I'd be given assignments to do at home to complete and mail them in for grading. This piece was an assignment in cross-hatching. At the time, the assignments were boring to me because I already knew how to do most of what I was given to do. Unfortunately, I lost interest. Maybe that's why I finished the course in 1991. Incidentally, it's the same school Charles Schultz, the originator of 'Peanuts' (Charlie Brown), got his start. Well, I guess it worked out good for him.

This is a pencil drawing done in the late 1980's. At the time, it was my best pencil piece I had done. This piece is so old and due to exposure that the paper has turned. Nevertheless, I'm glad to have found it after so many years.

Here's a watercolor painting of a white Ferrari I did in 1987. I was really into sports cars during this time, and my goal with this piece was to show a car running at a high rate of speed. That's something not easy to pull off, but I was pleased with the end result.
This particular piece was done in 1989 in marker, on paper. The title of the piece says it all regarding the issues in our country at that time in history.
Size: 8" x 10"

This is the wildest piece I've ever done.
I did this one in 1986. From this picture I can't tell you how many people asked me if I wanted to be an architect someday.

This was a picture of a Spanish woman I did in the late 1980's that was done in pencil and color pencil.
Ran across this graffiti board in my attic. This was something that myself and two other guys did back in the day during our time in Summer School. Talking about a blast from the past for me (1987). It's almost embarrassing. I can't remember everything I did on this, but I do know that I came up with the idea, and I did the brick-wall background.
